GOLDWATER LAKE, PRESCOTT

Approx. 110 miles from Phoenix each way

Pros:
Straightforward, inexpensive permitting allows for all access to lake, trails, and ramadas for crew use. Evergreen forest lake and trails can read as “summer” in October.
Paved roads go right up to trails and lake. Gorgeous pad overlooking lake can be used to stage camping, with parking right in front.

Cons:
We did shoot here last year, though setting is generic enough we could go back without it feeling recognizable.
